Do you need a NEW WEBSITE?

Maybe not. You may be able to hire someone to "redesign" your old site. Be careful when making this decision though. Sometimes, it can actually be more expensive to redesign a site, than to have it rebuilt from scratch. This is due to the fact that web design is constantly evolving and changing. What was once (not long ago) acceptable coding practice, is now considered outdated in web design. It can take more man hours to "fix" old code, than it does to create new code.

Answer these few questions to find out if you need a new website:
• How long ago was your website built?
  If it has been more than 2 years, your code is probably outdated, and you are probably better off starting from scratch.
• Was your website built using tables for structural layout?
  Tables for structural layout are now frowned upon by most web developers, and it is thought that the Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, and Bing) also frown upon this type of layout.
• Did you, or your "developer" use a website builder tool(template)?
  Commercially available "free" tools usually BLOAT the code, and that causes slower load times. Bloated sites are not good.
• Did you build the website yourself?
  If so, you probably used a website builder tool. See above.
• If not - when was the last time you had contact with the original designer?
  If it has been over a few months, or you can never reach your current web master, you should consider a whole new site.
• Do you make regular updates?
  Your business does not stay the same, so why should your website? Maybe your business changes seasonally, if so, your website should adapt. Have you ran any specials, or promotions lately? Did you update your site when you did?
